Over the weekend just gone (31st May – 1st June), a group of international scholars met at the Cornerhouse in Manchester for a workshop titled, “Playing God: Exploring the Intersections between Science, Religion and Entertainment Media.” Organised by the team behind the Science and Entertainment Laboratory, the two-day event aimed to begin a dialogue with those working on a dizzying array of projects, which are using entertainment media to creatively explore the relationship between science and religion.
Below follows a Storify of the weekends events, charting the papers, activities and discussion that occurred at the event and over Twitter, via the hashtag #SciRelEnt2014. Included below are links to papers and books referenced by speakers, clips and video shown during the workshop, and an audio recording of the final roundtable discussion.
